Camp Healthcare Supervisor – Summer 2025

The Town of Westwood seeks a qualified individual for the seasonal position of Healthcare Supervisor for the Westwood Recreation Department Summer Camp. This position is responsible for the medical care of campers ages 5-14. The Healthcare Supervisor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the Campers and will promote sound health practices while complying with the MA Department of Public Health Regulations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • During the preseason and when program is in session, screen Camper medical forms via CampDocs electronic health record system; review camper physicals and immunization forms to confirm they meet the MA Camp Regulations to attend camp.
  • Manage, document and administer medication.
  • Administer first aid and attend to injuries at camp.
  • Communicate injuries and illnesses with supervisors and parents in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keeping them stocked, organized and available for use.
  • Track and administer emergency medicine when needed. Ensure Epi-Pens are distributed and collected daily.
  • Act as First Responder and manage emergency medical situations at Camp until EMS arrives.

Qualifications and Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. First Aid, CPR/AED certification is required. Prior Medical experience and certifications are preferred (RN, BLS, WFR, etc.) Ability to work with children of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills necessary.

Schedule Requirements: Mandatory staff trainings June 10-12, 2025, from 4:00-8:00PM. Work commitment Monday-Friday, June 23 - August 8, 2024 (No July 4th).

Shift Schedule: Schedule is expected to be 8:00AM-4:30PM, subject to change.

Salary and Benefits: This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting hourly rate of $20.00-$22.00 commensurate with experience. Eligible for a $500 perfect attendance bonus. Employee discount of 100% on in-house programs, e.g., camp for full-time staff and their immediate family.
